Activity: Sequencing (FE2)
During my second field experience, I was working with grades 1-4 in English Language Arts. This activity was done with grade 2 students. This activity focuses on sequencing and having students be able to read a short story and then place different steps in order.
Activity 2: Summer! (Additional activity)
My fellow student teacher and I created an engaging summer-themed activity. This activity was done with grades 1 and 2 students, where they created flipbooks based on summer attire and accessories. This activity allowed students to develop their fine motor skills and reflect on what they like to wear and do during the summertime. Once they finished colouring, they cut the dotted like to create and flip books and mix and match their outfits.
Below you will see some examples of what students created.
Lesson Plan: Dream Playground (FE2)
During my second field placement, I created a lesson plan which included a read-aloud followed by a visual arts activity. This lesson was done with grade 1 students and was based on a unit discussed in class. After having the students partake in an interactive read-aloud, they were given instructions to create their own dream playgrounds.
Below you will find my lesson plan, a graphic organizer, and a personal example that was shown to the students.
