" The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don't tell you what to see."
Working with children has always been a passion of mine. When applying to university, I knew the Kindergarten/Elementary program was the right fit for me. Through my many experiences working with children as a camp counsellor, tutor and babysitter, I have furthered my passion for working with young individuals. As an educator, we hold vital importance in the lives of these young individuals and have the power to help shape them into proper functioning citizens in society. As education is continuously adapting, I have learned the importance of being open-minded and thinking outside the box. Due to my passion and drive to help others succeed, I can influence and motivate children through their educational journey. I am an energetic and outgoing individual who loves to make learning fun. Therefore, I always produce engaging lessons and activities, whether in the classroom or tutoring. I believe highly in incorporating students’ interests and passions into my lessons. Furthermore, I strongly believe in the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for all students
My passions:
One of my many passions is travelling and visiting new places. I believe that travelling allows us as human beings to learn about beautiful cultures worldwide. Although covid, unfortunately, cancelled some of my travel plans, I hope to continue visiting new places and developing my love for different cultures. Travelling provides an excellent opportunity to step outside my comfort zone and learn about the history of other countries and their customs and traditions.
One of my many passions includes cooking and baking. I love using different ingredients and experimenting with colours, textures and flavours. I hope to incorporate this into my classroom by doing an activity or lesson that revolves around various ethnic recipes or healthy eating.
